Argentina is extremely passionate about the game of fútbol. Following are notes I took after attending an amazingly fun and interesting game in September 2012.

• two rival teams (River Plate and Boca Juniors)
• each team’s fans have their own seating in the stadium
• rival team has poor viewing conditions

1. small area with only one unsanitary restroom
2. no concession stand
3. barbed wire fence surrounding their seats
4. several police officers nearby
5. home fans whistle loudly when rival team cheers

• singing songs is apart of watching the game (most are very offensive)

1. putting down players manhood

• Each team has a gang

1. gangs threaten players if they make plays/moves the gang does not like
2. at times force players to quit the team
